EAGLE TOKYO & EAGLE TOKYO BLUE: Best Gay Bear Bars in Japan

EAGLE TOKYO and EAGLE TOKYO BLUE are the best gay bear bars / the most tourist-friendly gay bars in Tokyo’s gay neighborhood ‘Shinjuku Ni-chome (新宿二丁目).’

Here are what they look like and their differences. A map is at the bottom.

EAGLE TOKYO

Lanterns at EAGLE TOKYO say “鷲 (eagle)” in Japanese.

That instagrammable, ever-so-graphic mural of gay Asian bodybuilders – the artwork by Japanese gay manga artist/illustrator ‘Jiraiya (児雷也)’ –  is at EAGLE TOKYO.

It’s sort of the mecca for gay tourists in Japan. #eagletokyo #eagletokyo #eagletokyo

Unlike the hype, the bar is laid back all the way, which is inviting. Sophisticated EAGLE TOKYO, in one word, is a sleek American gay bar. It’s sexy sans a darkroom.

They take credit cards. Woof.

Chill at EAGLE TOKYO, dive in EAGLE TOKYO BLUE. Some like dipping first. EAGLE TOKYO BLUE won’t refuse early comers (as long as it’s after 6 pm).

EAGLE TOKYO BLUE is the largest gay bar in Tokyo. There’s a plenty of room for fun: drinking, clubbing, go-go boys shows, drag queen shows, and everyday bear karaoke.

And of course, EAGLE TOKYO BLUE has a Jiraiya (児雷也) mural too.
