Mustafa’s Gemuse Kebap: Berlin’s best kebab

Here’s what Mustafa’s Gemuse Kebap (Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap) in Berlin looks like. There are also a menu, a signature chicken doner with vegetables, and a Turkish ayran. Vielen Dank.

Why kebab in Berlin? Because it’s the most popular street food in Berlin or the entire Germany thanks to Turks in Germany. Kebab stands are, literally, everywhere in Berlin. The competition seems intense.

Mustafa’s Gemuse Kebap is considered to be on top of the game. That’s how I had to conclude after having asked locals around during my 2 year stay. They were as right as google. Vielen Dank.

Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap offers three items: chicken doner with vegetables (Hähnchen Döner mit Gemüse), vegetable kebab (Gemüsekebab), and kebab wrap (Dürüm). Ordering here was like doing so at a Subway except for language. I had to say: alles (everything), mit Käse (with cheese), or spicy (very spicy). To conclude, I had to choose a sauce from three options: yogurt, spicy, or Thousand Island sauce-ish sauce.

The word “alles (everything)” can skip all the language lessons. That’s how I got my chef’s omakase, which was DAS best.

Chicken doner with vegetables (€3.20), left, Ayran (€0.90), right.

I had a chicken doner with vegetables (Hähnchen Döner mit Gemüse) with “alles.” This sandwich was accommodating at least, ten ingredients such as chicken, fried vegetables, mint, lemon, and on and on. With a Turkish savory yogurt drink “ayran” was the perfect food pairing. Alles klar.
