Mr. Maurice’s Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar is obviously named after Mr. Maurice whose grandson is Philadelphia-native Chef Marc Vetri who collaborated with the restaurant.

Ace Hotel Kyoto is kind of like a super cool food mall of selective America. Ace Hotel is also kind of like Europe: three-Michelin-star Noma from Copenhagen opened a pop-up in 2022. It’s not surprising that Ace Hotel Kyoto is one of the few openly LGBTQ-friendly venues in Kyoto. ShinPuhKan – where Ace Hotel Kyoto is located – is one of the best shopping malls in Kyoto.
